The entrance to the port of Soller is well marked by the lighthouses at Cabo Gros and Punta de Sa Creu. This harbour forms the only real bolthole on the northwest coast of Mallorca, although care should be taken when entering in a strong N or N/E wind. A few boats can go stern-to at the town quay, where it is possible to pick up water (in the mornings) and fuel. Otherwise, anchor in sand and mud in the bay itself. There are plans to expand the port and works have already started at the naval base.

Provisions can be obtained in the port and there is also a regular tram service to the town of Soller (3km away), where there is an excellent market in the mornings, plus all other shops and services. The tram ends at the station where there is a regular and very picturesque train service to Palma.
